Trustee statement

Every child should have the chance to learn

It is a privilege to be part of the IRMI Foundation. I am deeply committed to supporting people in need and believe it is essential to expand access to education for the most disadvantaged communities. Every child should have the opportunity to attend school and learn. By working with IRM Islamabad in Pakistan and supporting the continued expansion of Smart Schools, I believe we can provide children affected by severe poverty, who might otherwise be unable to access education, with valuable opportunities to receive primary education within their local communities.

I am also mindful of the gender inequalities that persist in Pakistan. For this reason, I am particularly enthusiastic about supporting IRM Smart STEP, which helps girls and young women build their skills and confidence, with a focus on enterprise and entrepreneurship.

I believe the work supported by the IRMI Foundation will have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of people who may be marginalised from mainstream services for cultural and social reasons.

Our collaboration with IRM Islamabad, which has more than 30 years of experience in supporting communities, will help the IRMI Foundation deliver its charitable purposes efficiently and effectively.
